LANDASAN PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DI SEKOLAH LANJUTAN

(Jaworski,1994) said it isn’t easy to teaching mathematics because we know that it is also not easy to the student to learn mathematics. (Jaworski, 1994:83) also said that there aren’t best way to teach mathematics.
Concroft Report had recommended the variation of teaching mathematics (1982:32) there are: Exposition method, Discussion method between a teacher and the students and also the students each other, Problem solving method, Investigation method, Basic skill exercises and application method.
Even, there are many kinds of teaching method that can be applied at the mathematics class, at the fact the teacher still got a problem such as: the understanding about the theory, how to apply it, unsupported current system, range condition, and the facilities of learning. And the biggest basic problem is the differences between students ability to do mathematics.
Recently the problem was facing by the teacher are high achievement of Final National Examination and the finishing of the syllabus, these two things are the two main factors why are the teacher haven’t another alternative on the process of teaching mathematics except using exposition method. The accumulation of these problems is the student being uncomfortable on learning mathematics, because no variation experience except look and hear at the teacher during the teaching learning of mathematics process. It is also make the student haven’t any interest at mathematics.
So the teacher should change their mindset about teaching mathematics, they also should applied a variation method on teaching learning mathematics process based on the nature of mathematics as a science and the nature of student learning mathematics.
Before applied their method on the class there are some kind of preparation include on the lesson plan that the teacher should be prepared. After make e lesson plan, the next step is teaching learning process, on this process the teacher should give the student chance to construct ant to develop their knowledge by their self, the student also should get a chance to show their invention to the class. The next step is evaluations, the teacher should realize that evaluation is not only final exam, but it also examine the student understanding, the process was used by the student, the ability of the student and also the fact and the result of concept understanding.
Finally we can conclude that on the process of developing design of teaching mathematics should based on the change from traditional teaching mathematics method to the modern and various teaching mathematics method.
