Kegiatan Penelitian Sebagai Usaha untuk Meningkatkan Profrsionalisme Guru Matematika

                Research is an activity to get a knowledge, which is done with prosedure and supported by a metodologi. The innovative teacher should have knowledge about teaching mathematics which is appropriate with the trend of mathematics education in this world. A mathematics teacher can change the method of mathematics learning by doing experiment. Approaching of mathematics education research is done by many ways, including quantitative research. Quantitative research use logiko-hipoteko-verivikatif method on their thinking framework, with using this order procedure: define a problem, formulating the hypothesis about the teaching learning of mathematics, to collect the data about the practice of teaching mathematics, data analyze, hypothesis testing, conclusion and finish.
                  Research also can define as a hermeunitic activity. In a board outline there are two kinds of hermeunitic on the mathematics learning research. If the researcher was directing their attention on the specific things and try to undercover the mathematics learning phenomena as a real world that is can define with the theory or method and then the researcher develop research method then this is called realistic hermeunitic. But if the teacher tried to get an illustration of the world of mathematic learning and also doing a world deconstruction, actually in the world of mathematics education this is called deconstruction hermeunitic.
                Now we want break down about the range and the method of mathematics education research. The range of mathematics education research actually is based on each teacher. Talking about research method, we should know first that there are some methods to doing a research actually in mathematics education. The method which is used by teacher should be appropriate with the purpose of the research, for example if the purpose is repairing mathematics learning on the content side then the teacher must doing an observation, if want to repair or get the innovative learning method then the researcher should pay attention on the context of learning mathematics, etc.
                The views of the nature and characteristic of school mathematics also give a character of school mathematics for over all. There are some characteristic of mathematics depend on the kind of mathematics like a pure mathematics, applied mathematics which is also called mathematics for school, and the researcher of mathematics education also should realize about it.
                With the research of mathematics education we knew that there are differences between individual and group on the learning of mathematics, we can define the position of student in the group, and compare the learning result of each group. By doing a research we also can investigate the suitability between the purpose and the result of learning mathematics.
